Skoda Key Fob Emblem ChangeAugust 7, 2018
So as you know from earlier posts I am changing over to Skoda’s new design (silver & black from green).
Done are my bonnet and boot badges. Wheel centre caps will be done as soon as this crazy tropical weather goes somewhere else. The steering wheel centre is a problem because of course it is the airbag – I’m scared to muck about with that. Maybe I can change the entire steering wheel?
But today arrived from England my key fob emblems. One is for my spare keys which I will do another day.
So, I did this straight away…
Not owning a heat gun, I used these crude instruments to pry off the old emblem. But carefully.
I then scraped out the old glue, cleaned the area with a spirit and stuck the new design emblem in place. It has a peel away back and is ready to stick straight on.
And that is it.
One of my simplest customisations so far
If only they could all be as easy as this was!
Every customisation has a feel good factor to it. Each time we change something on our car for something different than is standard we are moving our car away from what is commonly seen on the roads and moving it into very personalised territory.
By the way, this key fob change is the only one I can enjoy from within my flat – I simply need to glance at my keys on the coffee table. All the others I need to either be close to or inside my car or peer out of my living room window down at it.
A cheap option too! This cost me just over £4 and that includes postage from the UK to me here in the Czech Republic. And remember that the price is for two emblems – one is for your spare key set.
Good luck if you decide to do this as well.
