Yellow Fog Light Tint

Yellow Fog Light Tint

8th March 2020 2 By Yeti Admin

Consulting the law here in the Czech Republic and I see that having a yellow fog light tint is permitted. Good!

Because this mod for my Yeti is something I would really like to have.

And today I’m going to tackle it 💪

The internet is flooded with yellow/amber tint film for sale. I chose one and waited for it to arrive.

If you prefer to spray the tint on instead of applying the film then that is available here on Amazon too.

As ever my order arrived fast.

So I gather together the things I need:

  • yellow film (naturally)
  • cleaning spirit
  • spray bottle full of water
  • hobby knife
  • hair dryer
  • lolly pop stick
  • cloths

I don’t own a squeegee and didn’t buy one because the fog lights are a small area to cover – I will try and do this job without one. 😮

So let’s spray a fog light with water and wipe it dry…

Now some cleaning spirit…

You should ensure that cleaning spirit is perfectly dry before attempting to apply the yellow film or you may have problems!

Okay, wizard, I will. Thanks!

After wiping the spirit away I give the fog light a blast over with the hair dryer just to keep the wizard off of my back 🙄

Time to peel off the protective backing on one side of the yellow film (there is another protective layer on the other side).

I blast the sticky side with water…

yellow film must be wet

I spray water on the fog light again, line-up the saturated film and just go for it…

With so much water under there this thing skates around like it’s an ice rink

And that’s a good thing!

I am using only my fingers to push the air bubbles (and water) to the edges…

Now I will peel away this protective layer…

Tuck in the edges with my lolly pop stick…

And the hobby knife to cut away the excess…

You should go over the film with your hair dryer then your fingers as a precaution.

Okay then, wizard. I will.

So, doing as he says…

BOOM!
